These policies explain how we prepare and maintain the calculators and guides published by AllCalculator. Our aim is to make useful tools whose workings, sources and limits are clear to visitors.
What we publish
We publish calculators and practical guides across topics including UK tax, pay, property, savings, home projects, maths and science. Pages are intended to help visitors understand a calculation or estimate. They are not a substitute for advice tailored to your circumstances.
Research and sources
When a calculator or guide depends on official rules, rates or published data, we use relevant primary sources where available. These may include GOV.UK, HM Revenue & Customs, Revenue Scotland and the Welsh Revenue Authority. Pages include source links or references when they are relevant to the calculation.
We explain important assumptions and, where practical, show how a result is worked out. Estimates can differ from a quote, official assessment or professional calculation because individual circumstances and source data may vary.
How calculators are checked
We check the calculation logic against its stated formula, rules or source information and test representative inputs, including boundary values where appropriate. Pages may be updated when we find an error, improve an explanation or change the calculation.
A calculator cannot account for every personal circumstance. Check the result and its assumptions before relying on it for an important decision.
Writing and review
AllCalculator is maintained by its creator. Content is checked for clarity, consistency with the linked sources and usefulness to the intended visitor. We do not describe a page as independently peer-reviewed unless a qualified external reviewer has actually reviewed it. Where a named specialist contributes a review, their role will be stated on that page.
Updates and corrections
We review pages when relevant rules, rates or source information change, with particular attention to time-sensitive tax and financial calculations. A “Last updated” date is shown where applicable. It refers to the latest substantive review or change, not necessarily a complete rewrite.
If you spot an error, unclear wording or an outdated source, please tell us through the contact page. We will assess the report, check it against reliable information and correct the page when needed.
Use of AI tools
AI-assisted tools may be used for tasks such as organising research, drafting or editing text, coding and checking calculator behaviour. They do not replace checking important figures and claims against relevant sources. We do not publish AI-generated calculations or factual claims solely on the basis of an AI response.
Advertising and independence
Advertising may appear to help support the site. Advertising does not determine calculator formulas or change the results shown. If a page includes a paid placement or affiliate relationship, we will identify it clearly.
Scope and advice
Our calculators and guides provide general information and estimates. They are not financial, tax, legal, medical or building advice, and they may not reflect every rule or individual situation. For decisions with significant consequences, consult an appropriately qualified professional or the relevant official source. See our terms and disclaimer.
